Chat in Slack

Start chatting with Donna in Slack after your in-person meeting. She'll ask questions where needed to ensure she can capture as much information as possible. Afterwards she can create a summary, next actions and a follow-up email depending on your setup. For now, only text messages are supported.

Summarize your meeting

After your Slack conversation with Donna, she'll summarize everything and create action points where needed. Donna will immediately send out an email containing all the details including a link to the full conversation transcript available on our platform.



Receive draft email

Based on all the information Donna gathered from your conversation in Slack, she will carefully craft a tailored follow-up email for you to send to your clients. This customized email will incorporate key points discussed, ensuring it reflects your specific needs and objectives.

How to install Donna

For on-the-go use, an integration for Slack can be configured with Donna. Keep in mind that only text message communication is supported at this moment.

You can set up your integration for Slack as soon as you have requested access to our platform. To set up the integration for Slack, navigate to Preferences > Integrations. Here you can connect with Slack.

After clicking “Connect with Slack”, you will be redirected to your the Slack website. Make sure you have the correct workspace selected if you’re part of multiple. You'll be prompted to connect Donna to your Slack workspace. Donna requires following permissions:

Once everything is finished, you can click the “Chat now” link on your integration to be redirected to your Slack app.

Or you can select Donna in the Apps overview in your Slack workspace

Now just strike a conversation with Donna!

Disconnecting your Slack integration


To stop interacting with Donna through Slack, go to Preferences > Integrations and click ‘Disconnect’ on your integration.

How to use

To ensure Donna can assist you as effectively as possible, we recommend following a few simple steps during your conversation.


  1. Greet Donna

  2. Mention the contact or company you just talked to and provide any details about the conversation you just had with them

  3. Answer Donna's questions to help her create clear and comprehensive notes

  4. Once Donna has gathered sufficient information, she will:

    • send you a follow-up email with all the details you just provided

    • update your CRM fields (if you have your CRM connected)

  5. Donna will clear her context, allowing you to start discussing a new meeting after she:

    • updated your CRM (if you have your CRM connected)

    • sends you a follow-up email

    • receives the 'stop' command



Commands


Several commands are available to ease interactions with Donna. At any time during your conversation with Donna you can use the following words to trigger specific actions.


  • "stop" will clear the current context, allowing you to start a brand new conversation.

  • "text" will convert voice messages by Donna to text

  • "voice" will convert text messages by Donna to voice

  • "help" will provide you with useful information in case you run into issues

Example conversation

Depending on your configuration, Donna can not only summarize your meeting notes but also retrieve data from your connected CRM and push updates directly. For more details, reach out to us at support@askdonna.com.

In the example below, you'll see a Slack conversation with Donna. Simply mention a contact (first and last name) or a company, and Donna will search for it in your CRM system. Once located, she'll ask a few follow-up questions about the meeting, then update your CRM with the relevant notes tied to the specified contact and send you your wrap-up email.
